Pendle Price Slumps Amidst Arthur Hayes' Unstaking

Lookonchain reported that Hayes, the former CEO of BitMEX, unstaked $9.41 million worth of Pendle (PENDLE) tokens. This move has raised concerns about potential sell-offs. However, Lookonchain also noted that Hayes still holds 1.69 million PENDLE tokens valued at $10.26 million, with an average purchase price of $2.24.

Hayes' unrealized profit on these tokens stands at $6.46 million, providing a motive for a sell-off. If he were to do so, PENDLE's price could decline significantly. At the time of writing, PENDLE traded near $6, having fallen by 2% following Hayes' unstaking. Over the past week, PENDLE has lost 3.5%, while over the past month, it has gained 20%.

Following the approval of a spot Ethereum ETF in the United States, crypto investors accumulated PENDLE tokens due to its Ethereum foundation. However, Hayes' unstaking has shifted market sentiment.

Technical Analysis

Experts observe bearish indicators for PENDLE. A bearish head and shoulders pattern has formed on the daily chart, with $5.8 as the neckline. A daily candle close below $5.7 could trigger a significant drop of up to 10%.

Other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Solana, Toncoin, and Dogecoin have also experienced a 1% decline in the past 24 hours.
