Bitcoin Price Edges Higher, Targeting $100,000
Over the past 24 hours, the Bitcoin price has increased slightly, trading at $99,215 as of 02:36 a.m. EST. However, trading volume has decreased by 18% to $55.4 billion.
Charles Hoskinson, co-founder of Ethereum, predicts that Bitcoin could reach $250,000-$500,000 within the next 12-24 months. He cites growing investment inflows and increased interest in the cryptocurrency market.
"This will result in an ecosystem whose value approaches that of gold, an asset humans have valued for over 5,000 years," Hoskinson stated.
Bitcoin Price's Bullish Trend Continues
Bitcoin has been on a sustained bullish run since capitalizing on the $69,000 level in early November. According to GeckoTerminal data, BTC is showing higher highs and higher lows within a rising channel pattern.
BTC's position above the 50-day and 200-day Simple Moving Averages (SMAs) supports the continued uptrend.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 54, indicating a neutral-to-bullish reading and suggesting that the asset is neither overbought nor oversold.
The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) supports the current bullish trend as the price of Bitcoin bounces back from the rising channel pattern's lower channel. A bullish crossover has formed as the blue MACD line crosses above the orange signal line.
If the bullish momentum continues, Bitcoin could surge towards $100,000 and eventually target $110,000.
