DekaBank and Boerse Stuttgart Digital Partner to Offer Institutional Cryptocurrency Trading
DekaBank has partnered with Boerse Stuttgart Digital to launch cryptocurrency trading services for institutional investors. This collaboration leverages Boerse Stuttgart Digital's regulated brokerage and custody infrastructure, providing a secure and compliant entry point into the cryptocurrency market for DekaBank.
This partnership follows Boerse Stuttgart Digital Custody's recent approval under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. MiCA's regulatory clarity allows financial institutions like DekaBank to confidently integrate digital assets into their offerings while adhering to stringent compliance standards.
DekaBank, a prominent German financial institution and member of the Sparkassen group, holds a crypto custody license from both the European Central Bank and BaFin (the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority).
The new service is exclusively available to institutional clients. Retail access remains under consideration within the Sparkassen group.
"DekaBank possesses the necessary experience, required licenses, and a tested, ready-to-use infrastructure," stated board member Martin K. Müller.
This initiative reflects the burgeoning trend of institutional cryptocurrency adoption across Europe. A robust regulatory landscape coupled with increasing institutional interest is facilitating the gradual integration of digital assets into traditional finance.
