The Dogecoin Foundation has provided an update on its trailmap, highlighting significant advancements in initiatives aimed at improving the Dogecoin ecosystem.
Key Projects and Accomplishments
Over the past year, the Foundation has made substantial progress in crucial projects, including the GigaWallet, LibDogecoin, and RadioDoge.
Trailmap Progress
In a tweet, the Foundation shared a progress report with an accompanying image, outlining three steps:
- Step 1 (100% Progress): Enhance development accessibility and expand the developer ecosystem through LibDogecoin, multi-language bindings, community growth, and support for FOSS projects, businesses, and Dogecoin acceptance.
- Step 2 (90% Progress): Reduce adoption barriers for businesses and the unbanked population through the GigaWallet Payment Gateway, e-commerce plugins, and Radio Doge Dogebox OS.
- Step 3 (10% Progress): Improve Dogecoin's throughput to meet global currency scalability requirements, primarily through the Sakura project, which aims to implement the "Proof of Doge" protocol upgrade prototype, increasing block speed and size tenfold while maintaining decentralization.
Trailmap Overview
Published in December 2021, the eight-part Dogecoin trailmap encompasses various initiatives, ranging from website enhancements to the development of a point-of-sale dApp.
According to the Dogecoin Foundation, the trailmap represents a commitment to the growth and success of Dogecoin, through network diversification and the establishment of a comprehensive, tested Dogecoin standard.
