Shibetoshi Nakamoto, Co-Founder of Dogecoin, Earns $780,000 in Memecoin Donations
According to on-chain data, Shibetoshi Nakamoto (Billy Markus), a co-founder of Dogecoin, has reportedly accrued substantial profits from various memecoins.
Dogecoin Sales and Repurchase
In 2015, Markus famously sold his DOGE holdings for $10,000 to purchase a car. Today, those coins would be valued at approximately $9 million or $45 million at DOGE's all-time high.
Memecoin Donations
However, Markus appears to have devised an alternative income generation strategy. He has created a series of cryptocurrency wallets and publicized them on social media, encouraging donations from other memecoin founders.
Thanks to numerous memecoin developers sending tokens to these addresses for recognition, the Dogecoin founder has reportedly earned $780,000 this year. Markus promptly sells the donated memecoins.
Recent Donation
Just three days ago, Markus received Baby Neiro memecoin tokens, which he converted into 12.2 BNB (approximately $7,243) and sold promptly.
