Innovative Tech Billionaire Elon Musk Contemplates the Founding of "TITS"
Tech billionaire Elon Musk has expressed interest in establishing The Texas Institute of Technology and Science (TITS), a university initially proposed in 2021.
In a tweet, Musk responded to a suggestion from Andreessen Horowitz general partner Katherine Boyle, stating, "Maybe it is time!"
The acronym TITS has garnered attention on Twitter, generating jokes and memes. However, Musk's involvement adds legitimacy to the idea.
In 2021, Musk hinted at founding TITS with "epic merch." Michael Saylor, then-CEO of MicroStrategy, endorsed the concept, suggesting the university teach the benefits of Bitcoin.
Musk's previous tweets indicate that tuition for TITS could potentially be paid in Dogecoin, with discounts available to pet dog owners.
Elon Musk's multifaceted initiatives extend beyond electric vehicles and space exploration into the realm of education reform. He has founded Ad Astra and Astra Nova schools, prioritizing problem-solving, critical thinking, and future-oriented skills.
Ad Astra, a closed school for children of SpaceX employees, operated without traditional grades or academic subjects, fostering collaboration and adaptability. Astra Nova subsequently opened to the public, offering similar educational principles. Full-time enrollment currently costs $32,500 annually.
