Elon Musk Revives Dogecoin Hype with Cryptic Post
Tech visionary Elon Musk sparked excitement in the Dogecoin community with a cryptic post on his X platform.
Musk, known for his love of memes and self-professed "Dogefather" status, shared an AI-generated image of himself standing before a podium adorned with the words "Department of Government Efficiency." This acronym, cleverly, aligns with the name of his beloved canine-themed cryptocurrency, Dogecoin.
Musk's Silence Broken on Dogecoin
Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has reignited enthusiasm for Dogecoin after a period of silence regarding the original meme coin.
In his recent post, which has generated renewed optimism among Dogecoin enthusiasts, Musk depicted himself as an executive in the Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.). Accompanying the image was the caption, "I am ready to serve."
Musk's tweet is widely seen as a response to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's suggestion that he might include Musk in his Cabinet if elected.
Predictably, the post triggered a positive response from Dogecoin supporters. The price of DOGE surged over 3%, reaching a local high of $0.1057. However, Dogecoin's rise coincided with a general upswing in the cryptocurrency market.
Musk's Endorsement and Speculation
Musk's apparent mention of DOGE has fueled excitement among fans, as the billionaire has consistently been an ardent supporter of the meme coin. Last month, he expressed his fondness for Dogecoin, stating that he "likes dogs and memes."
Given Musk's endorsement, speculation has abounded regarding the integration of Dogecoin on X since his acquisition of the social media giant in 2021. The DogeArmy remains hopeful that DOGE will be incorporated into X's future payment system.
Notably, both Tesla and SpaceX currently accept DOGE as payment for merchandise. Musk has also hinted that Tesla may eventually accept it as payment for its electric vehicles.
