Floki Plans Institutional-Grade ETP on SIX Swiss Exchange
Floki intends to launch an exchange-traded product (ETP) based on its FLOKI token on Switzerland's SIX Swiss Exchange in early Q1 2025. This development would position FLOKI as the second memecoin to offer an institutional-grade investment vehicle in Europe, following Dogecoin.
Collaboration and Community Support
Floki is partnering with an asset manager and ETP issuer to create a regulated investment product accessible to both institutional and retail investors. The Floki DAO has proposed allocating 16 billion FLOKI tokens, valued at approximately $2.8 million, from its treasury to provide liquidity for the ETP.
This proposal has received overwhelming support from the community, with over 204 billion votes cast in favor. The unanimous approval reflects the community's endorsement of the Floki ETP initiative.
Connecting Traditional Finance to Digital Assets
The ETP will allow investors to gain exposure to FLOKI through regulated channels, bridging the gap between traditional finance and digital assets. While specific details about the product's structure and pricing remain confidential, Floki assures that the tokens used for liquidity will remain under their ownership.
SIX Swiss Exchange Listing
SIX Swiss Exchange is Switzerland's largest stock exchange and ranks third in Europe. The listing on this exchange will provide Floki with access to a significant investor base.
Expanding Crypto Investment Options
The announcement of the Floki ETP follows the recent launch of the Floki debit card in partnership with Mastercard. This card supports multiple crypto assets, including FLOKI, BTC, and USDT.
Beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, investment products are now offering exposure to a wider range of crypto assets, including popular options like Solana and Ripple. Last month, Valour launched the first Dogecoin ETP on Sweden's Spotlight Stock Market.
The increasing availability of institutional-grade investment vehicles for memecoins and other crypto assets indicates growing interest in decentralized finance and alternative investment options.
