Hong Kong's HashKey Crypto Exchange Expands Global Presence with Solana (SOL) Listing
HashKey Global, the international arm of HashKey Group, has added Solana (SOL) to its list of supported assets, aiming to attract a wider customer base worldwide.
In a recent press release, the exchange announced the launch of spot trading for the SOL/USDT pair on May 24 at 10:00 (UTC). This expansion complements HashKey's existing offerings, which include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Dogecoin (DOGE), among others. However, it is important to note that trading is not available to users in the U.S. or China.
Despite the news, SOL has experienced a decline in value, currently trading at approximately $163, as per CoinGecko's latest data.
HashKey's Global Expansion
HashKey Group launched the international version of its crypto exchange in early April, seeking to expand its offerings globally. In an interview, HashKey Group COO Livio Weng explained the motivations behind this move, stating that the local market is relatively small and regulatory constraints in the region limit access for global users.
Future Plans for HashKey
Weng outlined the company's ambitious plans to secure additional funding to support its international business initiatives. While specific details about the funding remain undisclosed, reports indicate that HashKey is in discussions with potential investors, with projections suggesting a funding round that could exceed the $100 million mark achieved in its previous Series A financing.
