Coinbase has announced the availability of Pepe (PEPE) for trading to New York residents. Effective today, users in New York can now buy, sell, send, and store PEPE directly on the Coinbase platform, both via its website and mobile apps.

The exchange obtained a license to engage in Virtual Currency Business Activity from the New York State Department of Financial Services. This approval expands access to PEPE for New York users, who previously faced restrictions on trading certain cryptocurrencies.

This listing comes just a couple of weeks after Coinbase's initial listing of PEPE on November 13, 2024. Following the listing, the token surged by nearly 30%, reaching a price of $0.0000181. It was listed alongside other popular memecoins such as Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.
As of now, Pepe is trading at $0.00001943, representing a 7% increase in the last 24 hours and a 6% surge in market cap to $8 billion.
