Dogecoin (DOGE) Wallet to Cease Operations
On the social media platform X, Mishaboar, a Dogecoin developer, has advised investors to withdraw their DOGE from the Dogechain wallet by June 1st. Additionally, they should retain copies of their wallet's private keys.
"Ensure you move your DOGE from //dogechain.info (only use the .info domain!) before June 1st. Preserving a copy of Dogechain's wallets' private keys is also crucial. This will enable you to recover any funds accidentally sent or received in the future if you still have active addresses there."
Dogechain, powered by Polygon (MATIC), is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) blockchain designed to bridge the Dogecoin ecosystem with Web3.
Utilizing a proof-of-stake (POS) consensus mechanism, Dogechain facilitates faster and more cost-effective transactions. This has enhanced the accessibility of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), blockchain-based video games, and decentralized finance (DeFi) services for holders of the meme coin.
At the time of writing, Dogecoin is trading at $0.132, representing a 10.86% increase over the past 24 hours. On March 28th, DOGE was valued at $0.219.
