Shiba Inu Executive Clarifies TREAT Token Launch

Shiba Inu's (SHIB) marketing lead, Lucie, recently addressed confusion surrounding the launch of the TREAT token ( @treatsforShib).

Shiba Inu's Layer-3 Blockchain

According to Lucie, TREAT has not yet been released, despite reports to the contrary. TREAT was featured in Shiba Inu's magazine, "The Shib," as a Layer-3 token alongside a looming Layer-3 blockchain developed in collaboration with Zama. This blockchain will incorporate Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE).

The Layer-3 blockchain aims to enhance scalability on the Shibarium network, facilitating high-volume transactions and complex applications.

TREAT's Utility and Governance

TREAT is intended to serve as the governance and utility token for the new Layer-3 blockchain, similar to BONE's role on Shibarium.

Shiba Inu's TREAT and Growing Utility

The Shiba Inu team has already utilized TREAT in its development efforts. Recently, they raised $12 million through a TREAT token sale to fund the development of the privacy-focused Layer-3 blockchain and other initiatives.

Shiba Inu plans to use the funds to continue developing the privacy-based Layer-3 blockchain with Zama. Developer Shytoshi Kusama has confirmed that TREAT will be launched this year.

Meanwhile, Shibarium has achieved a significant milestone with the successful completion of two hard forks: Bor and Heimdall.
