Upbit Expands Trading Support to Include Popular Memecoins

Upbit, the leading South Korean cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the addition of trading support for two new memecoin pairs: PEPE and BRETT.

PEPE and BRETT will be paired against the USD-backed stablecoin USDT.

BRETT, the largest memecoin on Coinbase's Base layer-2 network, was the first of its kind to achieve a valuation exceeding $1 billion. PEPE is a well-known ERC-20 memecoin hosted on the Ethereum mainnet.

The announcement has spurred a positive response from the market. PEPE's price surged by over 13% following the news, while BRETT experienced a 25% increase in the past 24 hours.
