Vitalik Buterin's Sale of NEIRO Tokens Triggers Market Crash
Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, has sold his entire holdings of the Neiro (NEIRO) meme coin, leading to a 60% decline in its market value. This event occurred during a turbulent period in the cryptocurrency markets.
The Neiro community had previously transferred 17.1 billion NEIRO tokens to Buterin's address, making him the largest holder of the coin. However, Buterin subsequently sold all of these tokens on the UniSwap decentralized exchange for 44.4 Ethereum.
The large-scale transfer of NEIRO tokens triggered a rapid decline in their value. The cryptocurrency market is currently experiencing a downturn, with major assets facing significant declines.
Amidst this market volatility, the Neiro CTO reached out to Buterin via X, requesting that he donate a portion of the proceeds from his NEIRO sale to a stray dog shelter. This request highlights the community-oriented spirit of the Neiro project.
