Cardano Surges, Stellar Booms Amidst Top Crypto Gains

Cardano (ADA), the second-largest proof-of-stake (PoS) network, has witnessed a significant surge in its native cryptocurrency's value over the past week. In the last 24 hours alone, ADA has experienced a remarkable 15% increase. This upward trajectory positions ADA on the cusp of overtaking Lido Staked Ether (LSTETH) as the ninth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

Notably, Cardano last traded above $0.84 in April 2022, prior to the collapse of the Terra/Luna ecosystem. Its all-time high was recorded at over $3 in September 2021. In the past seven days, ADA's price has surged by an impressive 50%.

Another veteran altcoin, Stellar Lumens (XLM), has also experienced a double-digit price surge. Over the past week, XLM's price has more than doubled, propelling it towards replacing Pepe (PEPE) as the 22nd largest cryptocurrency.

As previously reported by U.Today, Cardano's price increase has coincided with increased whale activity. The number of large-scale ADA transfers has reached 8,900 in the last week, representing a six-month high.
