- BIT Mining, a publicly traded cryptocurrency mining company, has expanded its operations in Ethiopia, acquiring data centers and Bitcoin mining equipment worth up to $14.2 million. As part of a multi-phase acquisition strategy, BIT Mining has secured 51 megawatts of data centers and 17,869 Bitcoin mining machines. The company plans to merge-mine Litecoin and Dogecoin alongside Bitcoin, citing increased profitability. The expansion is expected to be fully operational in Q1 or Q2 2025.
