Former President Donald Trump continues to express his support for the crypto industry, declaring his intention to safeguard the self-custody rights of 50 million Americans over digital assets.
Addressing his supporters in Washington D.C., the 2024 Republican candidate vowed to "crush" the Biden Administration's anti-crypto stance.
Trump emphasized his commitment to protecting Americans' crypto from Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren, known for her anti-crypto legislative efforts, and vowed to prevent the government from establishing a central bank digital currency (CBDC).
"I will also stop Joe Biden's crusade to crush crypto, we're going to stop it. I will ensure that the future of crypto and the future of Bitcoin will be made in the USA, not driven overseas.
I will support the right to self-custody to the nation's 50 million crypto holders. I say this with your vote. I will keep Elizabeth Warren and her goons away from your Bitcoin, and I will never allow the creation of a central bank digital currency."
Earlier this month, Trump sought to secure the crypto vote by declaring his acceptance of digital assets, while simultaneously criticizing Democrats and Gary Gensler, Chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), for their anti-crypto stance.
Subsequently, he announced that his campaign would accept crypto donations in popular virtual currencies such as BTC, Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), XRP, Solana (SOL), and Shiba Inu (SHIB).
