House of Doge, Dogecoin Foundation, IndyCar Driver DeFrancesco, and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Launch Dogecoin Indy 500 Voting and Donation Platform
House of Doge and the Dogecoin Foundation are partnering with NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver Devlin DeFrancesco and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing to bring Dogecoin to the Indianapolis 500, supporting a cause close to the team's heart. The 109th running of the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing" takes place on Memorial Day weekend, May 25th, attracting over 350,000 spectators and a global audience spanning 140 countries. This year features a historic partnership, with fans voting on DeFrancesco’s Indy 500 car design featuring the iconic Dogecoin Shiba Inu.
Dogecoin, much like DeFrancesco's journey, had a fast start. Born 15 weeks premature and weighing just one pound, DeFrancesco faced significant health challenges, spending four months in the Neonatal ICU. His remarkable recovery led him to a professional racing career, and now he's using his platform to give back to critically ill children. As part of this partnership, DeFrancesco, a dog lover and Dogecoin enthusiast, will personally donate $25,000 in Dogecoin to Riley Children’s Foundation in Indianapolis, affiliated with Riley Children’s Health, a leading pediatric care center. This initiative also marks a significant milestone in professional sports, as DeFrancesco has committed to receiving $100,000 of his salary in Dogecoin, showcasing a bold step towards cryptocurrency adoption.
“I first invested in Dogecoin in 2020 and shared my enthusiasm with everyone I could. It’s not only my favorite cryptocurrency, but its potential as a global currency is truly exciting. I'm thrilled to be part of the community and an ambassador for its vision,” DeFrancesco stated.
Vote to Shape Indy 500 History
To celebrate this historic moment, House of Doge, the Dogecoin Foundation, and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing are launching a fan-driven contest. The Dogecoin community will select the official race car wrap and helmet design DeFrancesco will wear at the Indy 500.
From March 19th to March 25th, fans can vote on their favorite design and enter a drawing to win a Dogecoin wallet loaded with $1,000. The three design options are:
- Blaze: A fiery design.
- Turbowave: An 80s-inspired design.
- BananaBoost: A vibrant, playful design.
"Dogenate" for Children's Health and Win a Collector's Prize
This partnership encourages the Dogecoin community to support children's health. In addition to voting, Dogecoin donations to Riley Children’s Foundation offer a chance to win a unique prize: the Indy 500 racing helmet worn and signed by DeFrancesco during his qualifying run.
The Dogecoin fundraising campaign directly benefits Riley Children’s Foundation, supporting Riley Children’s Health's top-ranked neonatology program. Funds will provide life-saving care for newborns.
House of Doge invites the Dogecoin community to participate in this initiative and support this vital cause leading up to the Indy 500 on May 25th.
